My DS goes to a private around here. 2.9 with low 1300s SAT. Trinity, Connecticut College, Providence, all suggested as matches by college counselor. PP is not lying. You just don't have experience with the bump for coming from top private around here. And it's true, someone does have to be in the bottom 25%![/quote]

NP. Similar scenario here. My kid got admission and $10k/yr from SUNY Binghamton (OOS) with an Sat just below the 25th percentile. High gpa though. [/quote]
