DP. They will leave and not return. Maybe the young teachers in the first couple years with no kids or mortgages will stay. Maybe people already eligible for retirement. But the majority of experienced teachers can’t afford to be furloughed. [b]They will leave for states with lower COL and no furlough clause in the contract.[/b][/quote]

Um no. Most teachers have husbands with jobs in the area, where they can’t just pick up and move somewhere else. Not to mention most teachers have kids as well. You really think the majority of teachers are simply going to upend their family’s lives and move to another state that doesn’t have a furlough clause in the contract? [/quote]
