Why is it every time someone asks what they think we should do in the fall this because a hateful and rude conversation about people’s personal lives? This is about the country as a whole, not just your family. I’m not sure why that’s hard to understand... I think the best solution will be to rotate when we have class in person, like a hybrid class some universities do. The class sizes need to be smaller, regardless if little Johnny and Suzy have a low chance of getting covid-19 and dying. Your child will be around adults who are at risk, who are not hospital workers, or essential. Food, clothing, shelter. Childcare is not an overall essential, even if in some families it is. I’m talking about the whole picture. Also I’d like to clear up that many Americans are actually at risk, being overweight, having diabetes, etc. is a great factor in whether you survive. Simply not having a ‘weak immune system’ in no way means one is safe. As a teacher and a mom I understand this is really hard. Honestly I’d rather teach my kiddos in person but I also know I need to look at reality and I shouldn’t be so selfish. We all only have this life, it’s not fair to expect people to risk their lives if that was never a high risk, this includes grocers. I hope other stores can take a look at Whole Foods and try to shut down more stores and deliver. Or greatly limit the number of people and make sure they have to have a mask. I think as Americans we often forget how blessed we are and sometimes that makes us entitled. I hope now with this event our country can actually become better.
