OP's child has never been diagnosed with autism and after what seems like many years of intervention, one person mentioned autism. Latching on to that as a reason for everything wrong in their life is a bit absurd under these circumstances. Maybe after testing, they will get a diagnosis. But, maybe they will find out it is one of those diagnoses they also don't want, like ODD. Anyway, onto my point. PP, your child never could have been something else. Autism is part of your child's very being. It isn't like your child went through some traumatic experience that robbed your child of being the person they could have been. Your child is the person they were meant to be. What you are mourning is what you hoped for when you decided to have a child. [/quote]
