I think tenancy laws are different when the housing is provided as a benefit of employment, but I imagine any covid-related stay on evictions would probably apply to employment-related housing as well, so OP very well may not be able to bar the nanny from he house without significant legal consequences.[/quote]

Is she quitting?  Did you fire her?  Is she taking all of her things with her or just packing an overnight suitcase?

You have basically threatened to terminate her employment and evict her onto the street if she dares to visit her friend.  I dunno.  That doesn't sound right to me.  Not real familiar with nanny laws though, so maybe you can get away with it.  Hard to say.[/quote]
