I really do not get why so many PPs are defending their kids being cruel by telling others there is no Santa. Do you encourage them to go around saying there is no tooth fairy too just to be mean? It is not that hard to at least TRY to tell your kids not to say something to others. Maybe they obey and maybe they do not but to say you see no reason to even try is mind boggling.
I do not think that is what people are saying. Of course, no one wants a child to be upset. Kids do dum things, some kids are mean. The question is why is this someone else's problem if the original poster lies to her kids? Isn't she really the one at fault? Let's go even further. Santa in the mall is a stranger. My guess is she is putting her kid in the lap of a male they do not know, and is lying to them that they are Santa??? Yet tells her kids to stay away from strangers? I know this post will not be popular, but the original poster came out swinging blaming others for her lie. It's not anyone else's responsibility to continue a lie. Again no one encourages their kids to tell other kids there is not a Santa. This problem is as old as time. Siblings tell siblings there is no Santa. Why in the world is she posting blaming others.
