He does not want his legacy to be the unlimited power of executive branch, rampant corruption, and the destruction of the separation of powers. He’s conservative. But old school, Bush style, which is not this. I bet— by a lot— that 3rd Circuit moves it fast and SCOTUS denies cert. trump has little legal merit and not real issues of law. He just doesn’t want to. Which isn’t a great legal argument. And events on the ground mean everyone wants this to move fast. Like when they are seeking a stay of execution. They are on the clock.
