Why didn't you just get up and go out to the lobby?
See, this is BS. Why do we allow kids to be disruptive as hell, just because they are kids? That’s so rude! Why, in a room of five quiet adults, should ONE ADULT have to get up and leave? Why does your child’s rowdiness trump the other adult’s peace? Nobody wants to listen to your loud child. Not in the grocery store, not in the quiet waiting area of a child’s activity, either. Take that outside.
+1000, but not at all surprising that this isn't a popular answer since we're in the land of kids ruling the roost
I would, and have, taken my kids out of a situation like this or given another consequence (if my kid in the activity would've been freaked if we went outside) for loud or rude behavior. That said, I wouldn't judge another parent who didn't. Parenting a bunch of small kids is hard. I think most of us are trying to teach them how to behave in public spaces, but those are lessons that have to be repeatedly re-learned. Even adults have to re-learn things sometimes. You don't have to believe kids rule the roost or think everyone else a sub-par parent to think OP should relax and be gracious.
