All the benefits, none of the drawbacks. I have a cousin who is living with him mom (he's probably in his late 30s). His mom takes care of his kid. He also has a girlfriend who lives separately. My mom put her down a little bit recently because my cousin hadn't/wouldn't married her. My thinking is she's SMART. She's got her kids, but not his, to care for. No unrelated man in the house for her kids to deal with, (unrelated adults (men) in house are a physical risk to kids. Not that I suspect my cousin of anything, but statistically), no man to clean up after. Probably all the sex she wants. She has a job, she doesn't have to share her money. I say, she's got it right.
