I'm not the OP and I disagree with her position - but I honestly don't get whey people criticize posters on this forum for making comments about whether they like or dislike a certain fashion. That is one of the points of this particular forum, to discuss beauty, fashion and fitness. It is not just appropriate for a poster to make a comment like this here. It is in fact invited, encouraged, the whole point of the forum. If you think discussions about the pros and cons of specific fashions are beneath you or mean spirited I can't for the life of me understand what you are doing on a beauty, fashion, fitness forum.
Hmmm, well one does have the option of discussing fashion without being mean-spirited and nasty. It would be fine to say, "I don't like capris. I don't find them flattering to any body type." OP, instead, decided to point out that middle aged women look terrible in capris. Naturally, middle-aged women who wear capris took offense. Also, after OP's original sweeping statement about middle-aged women, several posters made absurd statements about what men think of capris, about men cheating on their wives because of capris, etc. All of this was alarmingly stupid and inspired some teasing. It's true that the OP has a right to make nasty statements about the fashion choices of other women on the fashion forum. And it's also appropriate for women who make those very same fashion choices to take offense and point out that OP is vapid, shallow, judgmental, and mean. Maybe that is the point of fashion but it's not wrong to point it out.
This. The OP said previously she happened to find this site via Google (is not a mom). Which is fine of course, but then she made the leap from that, to write a highly inflammatory post. I mean look at the title! Its not like she would send an email to her friends who happen to wear capris with that subject line. Or her parents friends if that is the generation she is talking about. It was mean, period.
