Congratulations to Endgame for hitting #1 in all time worldwide box office! I suspect that Endgame will at least get a nomination for Best Picture if not the win a la Return of the King - more for a seeing perhaps the most ambitious project in cinematic history through to an audience and critical pleasing conclusion. (IIRC only Hulk got below 70% on Rotten Tomatoes.) So - a re-release at which it'll get another few million to pad the results, but I suspect Avatar 2 will see a re-release of the OG Avatar which might put the Na'vi back on top. I suspect the title will switch back and forth like some of the Maryland-D**e basketball games of old (I'm a UVA fan but hate that school in Durham as much as any good Terrapin.)
I'm 5'8" and 270# and laughed at Fat Thor. DC Extended Universe is going to have a chance to get some thunder going with Birds of Prey, Wonder Woman 1984, The Flash, the Batman sequel, the Suicide Squad sequel, and the Aquaman sequel. Surprised they don't have anything released before Birds of Prey in February 2020...
I never understood- if Thanos wants everyone to be fed and grateful to him, why not just snap his fingers and make delicious food appear? If he can create an entire universe with the snap of his fingers, some extra roast chickens shouldn't be too hard.
He's not called Thanos the Reasonable Solutions Titan (he's called Thanos the Mad Titan)
I don't like Valkyrie. She was annoying af in Ragnarok. And I find it funny that some fans are bitching about Akoye not being in the movie enough. This movie is about the OG Avengers, so they'll be in it mostly. I'm sure after this Phase, she'll be in more of the future movies. Come on, even many other Marvel characters didn't have a lot of screen time.
OTOH, Ant-Man ended up being the lynchpin for all this and he certainly wasn't an OG Avenger. I'm surprised they couldn't have had one of the Wakandans in there (or one of Doctor Strange's friends) as they found room for Rhodes, and they included Rocket (Guardians) and Ant-Man (newer Avenger). (Also surprised Captain Marvel was absent for 80% of the movie.) Of course planning the all-female strike force was a WONDERFUL counterpoint to Birds of Prey (DC Extended Universe's all-female movie in 2020). Of course now that time travel exists in the MCU there is going to be stuff based on that, and some of the not very nice folks will be using it for not very nice purposes. These are pretty probable for Phases 4-6: Spider-Man: Far from Home (2019) Black Widow (probably a prequel, 2020 at earliest) A movie about the Eternals. There's evil Eternals called Deviants as well, including a certain villain named Thanos. (2020 at earliest) Doctor Strange 2 (sometime in 2021?) Black Panther 2 (2021 at earliest) Guardians 3 (2021) Will Guardians 3 include Thor? They might move on to Valkyrie if she is going to play a bigger role in Phase 4. Shang-Chi aka trying to break every box office in China and apologizing for turning an actual Asian character into a White woman (Doctor Strange's mentor the Eternal One). I'd be surprised if these DIDN'T happen Captain Marvel 2 - possible introduction of Kamala Khan Ant-Man 3 - possibly folding him into an earth-bound comic relief team like the Great Lakes Avengers (and of course this means - Squirrel Girl!) Other characters that might appear (these are my guesses only). Of course you can only introduce so many heroes in so many movies. * Will Nice Hulk be making any more movies? He's only featured in one so far. * There's going to be an all-female movie unless Birds of Prey TOTALLY bombs. * Of course a Guardians/Great Lakes Avengers mashup would be nice at some point, should a new comic relief team be necessary (we've already got Ant-Man as earth-bound comic relief). * If the Phase 4-6 evil mastermind isn't from the Eternals/Deviants, Doctor Doom might decide to make an appearance. There's others of course. * A Fantastic Four reboot would be quite easy at this point given that the previous movies bombed (as in didn't even make $200MM WORLDWIDE). * X-Men universe + Deadpool/X-Force will get major changes now that everyone is in one happy family. I think Sony has some rights to Spider-Man - are there any other characters that Disney/Marvel doesn't have all the rights to now? NO freaking idea how you'd fit Deadpool into the MCU except a VERY VERY VERY brief cameo. I mean there could be some reference to having to be family friendly or the such. (Possible he could become the new Stan Lee cameo.) You're not going to see full integration of the two universes until I'm collecting Social Security (I'm 44).
Following up my own post (and thank you to my fan :) Black Widow prequel - coming out May 2020 And yes the Eternals will be appearing! - November 2020 Shang-Chi aka break all Chinese box office records and apologizing for turning an actual Asian character into a White woman - My 45th birthday! - February 2021 Doctor Strange sequel - May 2021 - journey into horror (!) along with Scarlet Witch. Thor: Love and Thunder - November 2021 (anti-SJWs, assemble!) Of course the actual canon does have the actual freaking hammer saying: "Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor." so this might end up being an issue only the truest ignorami care about, sort of like Rue being Black in The Hunger Games. I'm starting to wonder if this will be some sort of romantic comedy with extra asskicking, given past wishes for the MCU to delve into other genres. I guessed right about the Eternals being the next set of villains (or heroes?) pulling all the strings, although the Evil Mastermind of Phases 4-5 or 4-6 won't be revealed just yet. Captain Marvel 2, Guardians 3, and Black Panther 2 were confirmed - also a Blade reboot. Of course, Natalie Portman being Thor means the Asgardians of the Galaxy will (should?) happen, and the soundtrack will compete with Wonder Woman 1984 for true awesomeness. Instead of Kamala Khan being Captain Marvel we see Natalie Portman being the target of anti-SJW rage. But no Ant-Man and it looks like the GLA movie will be only a faint glimmer of hope in my eyes. I can't see Ant-Man going away entirely - he'll show up in the comic relief movies. I was wrong about Hulk. Black Widow or Thor may yet feature large numbers of womenfolk. I suspect it's too late to shoehorn more women into Black Widow, but Thor may deliver on this promise. Guardians/GLA mashup was more a wish than a prediction. Presence of an Eternals movie does not guarantee an Deviants evil mastermind. Fantastic Four are getting integrated (no surprise) but the X Men getting integrated into the MCU comes as a bit of a surprise. You'll need a few years to get folks to forget the Fox movies, though.
