SSPX is not Catholic. Just stop the craziness with that weird poster.
Pope Francis disagrees with you. 1. He recognizes SSPX Confessions 2. He recognizes SSPX marriages 3. He recognizes the SSPX’s authority to ordain priests 4. A Bishop recently retired to an SSPX school with the approval of Francis https://international.la-croix.com/news/retired-swiss-bishop-to-live-in-sspx-home/10152 So tell me, how is the SSPX non-Catholic with all that? In Chr8st SSP- poster
SSPX very well might be right, although I am not current on the case, I assume he usually gets his facts right so no need to fact check. However it is not the facts that make the other posters say that he is not a Catholic, I suppose it is more of how he speaks about all things Catholic and how bad he make the Catholicism and Chruch to look like. It is very true that his posts are on offensive side, meaning to provoke, to attack, to offend and to ridicule. At the minimum it appears to be an undercover atheist who is pulling quite embarrassing moments form the Church's past and presence and under the pretenses of promoting and defending them he is actually looking to engage and destroy unsuspected posters who are not equipped in neither rhetoric nor knowledge of pertaining history or theology and they do not stand a chance. It is interesting to observe how the process works because history is full of such provocations that has evil intentions. It seems smart that most people stay away from engaging because they truly can get hurt. It is like I said before, going with a knife to a gun battle. SSPX poster though seems also very lonely and very insecure outside the ferocious façade and while would love to engage just as a child is looking for negative attention. It would be wiser though to try to look for positive attention and stop hurting people and their feelings because eventually it is bad thing to do. Especially when one claims to be a Catholic. It sort of obliges, just like nobility :). I wish SSPX finding peace and light.
Well I think DCUMers make Catholicism look bad( make it look like effeminate mish mash based on feelings) I’m offended by “Catholics” who support practices the Church has condemned. I post here to keep this place from becoming a liberal echo chamber. You guys should look into going to St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Vienna to see a real Mass and solid priests. In Ch4ist SSPX poster
I hear you. I see what you mean but then again, do you think that your way is the only way? It surely does seem so but how about not everyone is meant to be a saint, or a priest or a SSPX member? What if some people are not perfect Catholics but what if this is all they are able to manage? You do understand that a faith is a gift, a gift from God, so in a way you are fighting God because if you obey him, you would respect that he gives different amount of faith to different people, just like he does with talents. Doesn't the Bible say that at the end God expects more from those who were given more? Maybe you have been gifted more by God and they were not? What if they got other gifts that they have to take care of for God? His children? What if taking care of them is such a huge task that does not leave enough time to ponder Cathehism, Theology and what if they do not have strength to carry the weight the way you would like them to? I think that you see black and white. You think that if they can not be perfect they should stop existing? Well.. what if God does not see it that way? They still exist and if God would not like them to then God would address it, like he does through eternity. Also, why don't you consider the fact that people change. The older people get the more religious they became, for many reason. It is not rule that applies to everyone but to most or at least to many. So why don't you be a little more gentle to those hard working parents who often are tired beyond recognition, work so hard that their hands are falling off.. why don't you show a little more Jesus like patience and tolerance? Tolerance is the word. See.. the Bible is such that you can find anything you want in it to support any theory you wish. You will always find things that are pro and against any single thought or case you make. So yes, you can find things that are dark and angry, or you can find things that are kind and gentle. Just as Saints, and Fathers of the Church (and one Mother if I can recall) can be ferocious and dark in their writings that come from different times when the Catholic faith was under true attack.. when people were persecuted for their faith and all.. those were different times, now times are different. So, Church was always evolving. You know enough from what I know you so far, that Church is not only based on the Bible but also on the Chruch's tradition. It is what you are trying to deny. What if we live in different times and the tradition is such, it is changing. It is changing because times are changing and the best part that I can tell you is this: Jesus gave the keys to the Chruch to St. Peter. Right? That means the gave the total and absolute power to the Peter and then to each following Pope afterwards per the continuity of the Peter's office.. so, you have a pretty tough choice here. Either you follow Jesus and his will by obeying the office that he gave power over you, or disobey it. If it is the Pope who wishes to change the tradition, he shure as heaven can do it "according to Jeus". Right? So you really can not keep throwing some texts from Church Fathers who lived during the time of inquisition and such because it is entirely irrelevant today. You also need to see what damage those times did to the Church. Yes I hear you already saying those were good times a nd happy times and all that but again - be careful, you are taking about times that eliminated human begins by millions and it is not wrong to get offended by your claims of that sort. There were innocent people and many of them perfectly God obeying Catholics and Jews who were killed by millions to spread terror and fear. Nobody can say that this was a good thing and you repeating that are just plain wrong. So please dial it down. Fall in the line behind Christ and stop spawning fire and Sulphur. If nothing else can convince you that your way is not the best way, then read the Bible again and see how Jesus did it. He was not violent, he was calm, he was gentle and of pure heart and he was not violent or mean. Do you really believe that he would have that many followers if he were like you here? So, if you want be more like Jesus then be like him. If you don't believe me, then read your posts and replies. Do you think you are converting anyone to your ways? Do you think you are getting any Jesus-scale results? I don't know you and I don't know enough about Catholic Church to show you the way beyond the little I know but I sure as heaven wish you to find your peace and stop hurting people because truly, they work too hard and need a little Jesus in their life to survive to the next day. Do not take this peace away from them. I am sure Jesus will see it and reward you for that. Spread love, not hate. Do good not evil.
