Why would you worry about bullying?  Any evidence to support that?

My kid attends a majority minority school with few white kids--have never heard of any race-based bullying.  Not sure why it would be any different at a high school like Banneker, filled with smart, studious kids. [/quote]

PP here.  I'm sorry for your child's experience--did this happen in the DC area?  I haven't heard of white kids getting bullied at any schools around here.

My kid is actually not white, but has a few close white friends.  They've all been buddies since PK3.  From speaking with their parents over the years, I've never heard of any race-based bullying at our school.

Not saying it couldn't happen, but I would be very, very surprised.  I wouldn't automatically assume this is a systemic problem at majority minority schools.[/quote]

P.S. I attended majority minority schools K-12.  Each year, there were at least a couple white kids in my class.  I can only thing of a single incident of white kids being targeted, by a jerk kid in 8th grade.  That's the only incident I can think of (and it was a school that took all comers, not an application school like Banneker).[/quote]
