So the problem is that their scout is picking more players from one of the more talented elite clubs in the region than other clubs? I’m not following the “problem” or the “bad look” for US Soccer. It’s not their fault that there are better players on FCV on average than VDA.
It’s the fact that the scout is on the bench for all FCV age group games, that’s she’s working with FCV coaches to make choices, that kids she’s picking are less talented than others. It’s undeniable that it’s a bad look for US Soccer. She’s their employee, not FCV’s.
Well then get your kid to FCV and YNT dreams are yours for the taking.
Exactly. These people are miserable.
Not miserable, just realistic. Facts are facts.
If you were realistic you would: A. Take your YNT DD to FCV or B. Realize your DD is not YNT material.
Why? Most of the YNTs from the area do not come from FCV.
The points were that there is more exposure to the local scout at FCV and that there is more average talent at FCV. Both points are correct.
The main difference between elite teams is not at the top of the depth chart, it is at the middle and bottom. FCV is deeper than all other elite clubs at most age groups. That is why having a predominance of FCV at YNT camps raises questions. The record of any given team does not necessarily correlate to the number of YNT camp selects. At the very least it is a conflict of interest to have a scout with a son or daughter in the area and be making that selection.
So that FCV's roster talent is deep is a reason why fewer FCV kids should be invited to YTC? Those are some mental gymnastics you've got going on.
Let me simplify this for you. The point is that the reason for FCVs success is primarily depth. That does not mean their top talent is going to be better than other clubs by a wide margin as is indicated by their YNT camp selections.
Right, so they have more talent on their rosters than do other teams. Yes I understand that. You're making my point.
