Historically Jesuits educated boys - Sisters educated Girls The church changes the model only when they can't find enough boys to do what they need. Where I grew up, they allowed girls to be alter servers only when the class of 5th grade boys was so awful - they could not allow them to lead and train new alter servers. They taught the girls the roles - did not allow them to serve - and had the girls teach the new class. Only when someone called out them out - did they let the girls become alter servers. It would be very enlightened of Gonzaga leadership to create a coed school.... but it is all men in charge so that is not going to happen until there is some scandal - oh wait! [/quote]
