It depends.  There are reputable studies where people are compensated for their services.  You can also make money donating plasma or other fluids.  If you need to come up with money, particularly if your ability to get a PT job is limited, these aren't crazy suggestions, even if they might not be for you.[/quote]

That's not the point.  Even if you can't replace your entire salary, you may be able to make enough money to help tide you over until you ultimately get backpay.

Someone upthread quoted $300 for plasma. Regardless of the exact amount, I don't think it is stupid for people to earn what money they can if the shutdown is causing them a financial hardship.  Is it better to sit on DCUM and bitch about your situation?  How does that help?

You're not responding to the OP, who is WORKING WITHOUT PAY during the shutdown and trying to pay off $20k.  And no, 300$ is not typical for plasma, more like 20-50$.
