Both have more governing experience. In general, electorates are really quite moderate, but primaries push everyone to extremes. So in a liberal state, a moderate Republican gets through and a liberal Democrat. In a conservative state, a hard right candidate ends up competing against a moderate Democrat. It would really just be best if we had a top two primary system. [/quote]
