Kiss afternoon extracurriculars goodbye - courtesy of MD commuters using our local roads to avoid the DTR and Beltway. GTPike is a parking lot during afternoon rush hour. Our local officials don’t care about our kids- that’s been made clear. Those of us in GF would be better off getting rezoned to other schools. More time for the kids and they’d be at the top of the academic pool!
Op here. So are these people cutting through? We just moved in 2 weeks ago and still trying to figure things out. I was trying to come home from Bethesda the other day, got off my exit and this guy started trying to run me off the road because he was so mad that he thought I cut him off. I was just trying to merge so I could turn to go home.
Now you know why the ramp is closing. Maryland people think their commute is everyone else's problem. It simply is not.
I live in VA and sometimes use Geogetown Pike when the Parkway is backed up. Are you saying I shouldn't be allowed because its an inconvenience to you? Do you think that the road is only for your neighborhood's use? I didn't realize that the road was part of a gated community.
Believe it or not, there are enough who agree with the ramp closing sentiment to make it happen. It is not one person.
Who said it is one person? What a ridiculous straw-man argument. Most with an opinion on the topic oppose closing the ramp. If it closes, it will be another example of obvious favoritism towards a bunch of rich folks who think they should be immune from the same type of traffic that everyone else deals with it on a daily basis, and it will make traffic worse in every other direction heading out from Tysons. If John Foust has even the faintest of a clue, he will nip this in the bud now.
Or not.
