What do you think are the best schools for high-performing students though if we're not using test stats and graduation metrics as the basis?
Why would you think that the best schools for smart, hard-working students are the schools with the most rich kids? I'm asking sincerely.
You're answering my question with a question. I stated earlier when putting this list together that this list was based on test scores and graduation rates. And I've also stated that test scores are highly driven by the demographics of the school. I also asserted that any child can do well in any MCPS HS providing that they have a solid foundation at home. It's very difficult to measure a school's success or effectiveness without using the data that's available unless you actually have direct experience with the school. Example my kids went to a Focus school in Gaithersburg and on paper, it doesn't look really good based on test scores. But you know what? The teachers were amazing, the principal is top-notch and the community was fantastic. Loved, loved that school and my kids thrived there. But I wouldn't have known all of this without experiencing it.
