DP here.  You are very, very wrong.  Chelsea Manning is a convicted traitor.  She pleaded guilty to violating security and espionage laws.  She was only available to run for office because her sentence was commuted by Obama.  There are many who feel that a convicted felon who did not even serve the full sentence is not a good candidate for political office (ignoring the obvious jokes of convicted felons being perfectly qualified to serve in the US Senate).  The feeling that she is completely inappropriate for the job and shouldn't have gotten as many votes as she did can easily have nothing to do with her transgender status or any judgment of it.[/quote]
