Even though it would be more expensive, I think they'd move ATS to Jamestown before they move EL (and [b]they're not moving Montessori in this process[/b], stop trying to make that happen). With the Campbell eligibility being so limited for most of its history, they have very little track record to go off of as to how much the program will appeal to North Arlington families. That makes moving EL to Jamestown a huge gamble, because they know they'd lose a bunch of South Arlington families who wouldn't want their kids to go to school that far away with no sense of whether they'd be able to fill all of those seats again with North Arlington families. ATS is so popular with everyone that they could move it to whichever end of the earth they like and they'd still be able to fill it. It might not have the same diversity it does now (which would be the case for any option program they move further north), but they'll get butts in all of the seats.

I think this is exactly why the process was set up to just set locations during this round and then place each program at a site later. The staff and SB can know privately what they think the arrangement will eventually be, but they face far fewer battles if everyone can believe their pet option program is going to get their preferred location. And then once the locations are all a done deal and not open to revisiting, they can fight the battles of what goes where knowing they've limited the possibilities.[/quote]

Not decided right now, but the staff said in a recent CIP meeting that they were hoping to have swing space available at the Ed Center by 2022, assuming the high school seats could be move out by them. If I'm understanding correctly, the original notion had been that the swing space would eventually be used for middle school seats, but then the staff suggested it might be used for elementary seats instead. Which made everyone lose their minds, because the people focused on high schools were unhappy at the suggestion they might take away the Ed Center seats so soon (because who's going to send their kid there if they know it's only going to be for a couple of years and then they have to move again?), the middle school people were upset that they might not get the extra swing seats they thought they'd have, and the Montessori elementary families were unhappy to have it laid clear that Henry really is just a temporary solution. And then NVD ripped into the staff for creating all of the drama. It was pretty good.[/quote]
