[/quote]These groups have an emphasis on spirituality in the 12-steps but there's no requirement to be a believer in any religion. People pretty much take what they need from the meetings and leave the rest. Some people think of the "Higher Power" as God. Other people think of the "Higher Power" as the group conscience. As they say, you can decide the Higher Power is a door knob if you want.[/quote]
