You don't get it do you?  You're proving my point for me and you think you've got the winning point?  It doesn't matter how much of a loser you think OP is, how you think $90k is "not particularly successful" and how you think 35 is "old," you're just proving that OP's ex was with him for the money, and when that didn't pan out, she dropped him like a hot rock.  Ergo, he dodged a bullet.

He's ELEVEN YEARS OLDER THAN HER.  He started dating her when she was 21 and he was 32.  He's old [b]compared [/b]to his ex.  He violated the campsite rule, admits that he wasn't emotionally supportive of her, and wouldn't help her out the one time she asked for it.  I'm not dim, kiddo.  I'm just not deluded.

And you're the one trying to paint her as a femme fatale targeting his wealth, which is why the fact that he makes $90k at 35 matters.  That's not gold digging.  That's a basic "I have a college degree" salary in DC, and the fact that she's still in school is not because she's vamping for time to find her meal ticket, it's because he was dating someone ELEVEN YEARS YOUNGER THAN HIM.
