Let me clarify - I was not writing for any other black person - only for my husband "HE thinks it's a joke" - those were his actual words. He is no more an authority than anyone else would be, but that is his opinion. I am sure there are plenty of AA that celebrate Kwanzaa. I can't speak to that. My DH doesn't and he does think it's a joke - his words. That was truly my only point. I certainly wasn't typing that as therefore it must be true for everyone - if you thought that, then you read waaay too much into things.
