You either don't fly with a child like that, or if it's genuinely unavoidable (which literally means a life-saving operation for the child or a permanent move/deployment to another country, absolutely not just that someone wanted to visit someone or go to an event or do some traveling) then you take steps to at least TRY to ensure that it's not the Trip From Hell for all other passengers.
