I'm not talking 1000 years permanent. But we need something that the Democrats can't undo the second they get control, and you know they will. Beefing up the number of border agents will last only as long as the Rs retain power.[/quote]

I'm not so worried about those people. About 30 - 40% of illegals are the "illegal crossing" type, and that's where we need control. And the wall won't solve the problem completely - you're right, I'm not dumb - but it will present an obstacle while sending a strong message that this country is not looking the other way anymore. Better than setting up a hotline so illegal immigrants can voice their complaints about border agents! Obama should have just hung a big "Welcome" sign.
