That is important if you are competing for pre-professional programs (premed/business) or admission to STEM grad programs in the top ranked universities as that requires getting high undergrad GPA with lots of time spent of relevant extracurricular activities. It may not mater if the student is planning to get a degree in the fields like arts, education, IR etc. [/quote]
