It's what your child has been learning in adv. math/pre-algebra. If they aren't ready for it based on what they are learning at school, they really shouldn't be pushed ahead into Alg. next year. FWIW, my 6th grader took it last week after the extra long Xmas break and unplanned snow days and said it was easy. So, my impression is that all the necessary skills were taught in 6th grade adv. math. If you really want to see a sample, google it on youtube. But, don't push your kid into a HS class in 7th grade if they aren't already rockin' it in math. [/quote]
