OP what was the tenant issue? If it was simply reminding them to take out the trash, that’s different than having to get a court order to remove them. If she’s being a brat and can’t simply call or email them to ask/ remind them of something, that’s ridiculous and is probably the exact stuff you didn’t want to deal with when she decided to take on this venture. If it’s a serious issue, like a tenant is violent or aggressive, or they’re not paying rent and facing eviction, etc... I can see her asking for your assistance in the matter, and you should *want* to be there for your wife, but she should still put on her big girl pants and take the initiative/ lead. As for your daughter - she should write her own cover letter. If DD asks for help, of course help her, but your wife has no right to be mad at you for simply “not doing it”.
No, the tenant wants to renegotiate something in the lease - $150 maintenance fee per call. DW wants to keep it. I say let it go to make tenant happy. DW wants me to reiterate her position to the tenant.
PP who asked the question here. I know this isn’t the point, but out of my own curiosity, what does that even mean? I’ve lived in several apartments and have never heard of a maintenance fee. Does that mean if the apartment needs something fixed, you charge the tenant $150 each visit?
