This is a supervisor giving a (very extravagant) holiday gift to her subordinates, and letting the amount of that gift be determined by the size of her bonus. Unless there's an express policy of no gifts among employees, it's not an HR issue at all. Now, she shouldn't have made the public announcement. But it really doesn't make a difference - even without the announcement, her subordinates would have been excited about the bonus and word would have gotten out. It's a shitty situation for the other supervisors for sure, though. [/quote]
