".....have a CCW but almost never carry" Translated for everyone who doesn't know anything about guns or CCW: "I did the absolute minimum of training required and necessary to obtain the license, then immediately stopped doing anything to maintain even that low level of proficiency. I almost never carry the gun, so on the occasions when I do, I'm *incredibly* dangerous, because it's like I'm carrying it for the first time, instead of being as familiar with it as my phone or house keys. I'm not used to wearing it, it might fall out of my holster because I'm not used to that either, I might pull the trigger accidentally because I'm not used to it being there, I might even take it off and forget about it when I'm in the bathroom stall, because I'm not used to having it on me and therefore don't feel right when it's missing. I'm basically a danger to everyone around me, because I don't take this responsibility seriously, and treat the privilege of being able to carry a gun to defend myself as some sort of casual thing. Anyhoo, I like to tell people I carry, because it implies to people who don't know anything about guns that I must be some kind of expert, and can win post wars on the interwebz because of my awesome gun knowledge." This is what "almost never carry it" means, folks. PP, you should throw your handgun off a bridge, so you won't hurt yourself with it.
PP here. I go to the firing range regularly. I'm probably a better shot than you. You do not need a CCW to transport a firearm to the range in Virginia, but I expect you knew that already. I don't carry because I have young kids and the risk of something going horribly wrong is much higher than ever needing to use my gun in a life or death situation. Sorry you're butthurt that someone can be pro-gun and anti-NRA/ anti-Comstock. There are plenty of people just like me, I assure you.
Provide us with some details, we'll decide if you're credible or not. I won't ask anything specific, since google will have all your answers for you. Just tell us a little about what and where, and how you carry, and where you shoot. Descriptions of the interior of the range. I've been to every range in FFX and PW county, tell us what they one you visit looks like inside (numbers of lanes, other details) If you're actually a shooter, we'll know it by what info you post. If you choose not to provide details, well, that sort of proves the PP's points nicely.
