There was a This American Life episode on the Rockville rape & the narrator was so absurdly biased and pro-illegal immigrant that he justified illegal immigrant violent crime by saying something to the effect of [b]"We found that most illegal immigrant crime is actually done to other illegal immigrants." Umm... great??![/b] And they always get slick with their words when talking about illegal immigrant crime to avoid addressing narcotics, identity theft and DUIs.

Surprisingly, they acknowledged illegal immigrants commit more crimes, per capita, but they attempted to dismiss it by basically saying, who cares, the native population doesn't see the brunt of it. So bizarre. And of course they put DUI, identity theft, stolen social security # into the victimless crime category, to omit referencing them.[/quote]

Agreed!  Those are not victimless crimes.

Laws have to change.  Immigration needs a big overhaul.

The central american immigrants I worked with in DC had needs far surpassing 'regular HS'. Many young adults (15/16) came from backgrounds of violence and trauma, no English, and functionally illiterate in home language...maybe fifth grade education at best. All were easy prey for gangs, with parents working night shifts and often absent for that reason. I am not devoid of sympathy, but to think we can open the doors and not have educational and cultural assimilation problems (seeing women as objects for example) is naïve at best. Yes, we need immigration reform . We should then let in the people (low skilled, high skilled, refugee) that we can actually  functionally support, if they have an obvious educational, counseling, relocation, job training, cultural training need that will need to be addressed in specialized program. We need to close the door on de facto illegal immigration totally.[/quote]
