Many facts have been given, such as the fact that the average amount of time a girl spends in the porn industry is only 4 months, that she usually leaves without making much money, that many of these women were sexually abused. Care to address these facts? Thought not.
PP with friends in the industry here. Yes, the industry is always looking for new faces, so the shelf-life of an actress is short. I don't see a problem with this -- surely they know it. Just like a football player knows their career is lucky to last 3 years in pro football. The women know how much they will get paid for one scene. They can turn it down or get another job if they don't like the money. They are not being forced to take the job. If she leaves without "making much money", she isn't choosing the right job. As for many women being victims of sexual abuse in the past, I don't doubt that, but the industry isn't and shouldn't screen for it, just like other employers don't screen for it. People make decisions in their life which we may not agree with, but they are making it of their own free will and legally.
No, they don't know this. The other poster posted about girls getting into a "career" in the industry which would make them $150 K, which is laughable. A grown man believes this, you don't think an 18 year old from rural Kentucky would believe the same thing? The women have little to none negotiation power. This is not an industry that rewards experience, so if you don't want to do that scene, or feel uncomfortable with the acts expected it- too bad, you do it, You are watching these girls essentially live out their trauma. They are being retraumatized and performing the sex acts they were taught by their abusers early in life. A normal, healthy person finds this sickening, you seem to be, unsurprisingly, numb and blasé about it. When you jerk off and enjoy someone who is making a horrific decision, such as in the metaphor of me paying a homeless man to knock out his teeth, you are a horrible person. And regulatory boards should step in to prevent me from regularly approaching people and knocking out their teeth while filming it.
