Depending on the child, especially older elementary students might very well be able to think about these issues and legitimately want to protest. My DD who's in 7th grade this year, would certainly have been able to think critically about these issues last year. I would support her if she decided to kneel during the pledge. I think it's legitimate in this context and not necessarily disruptive. I'm not thrilled with the pledge being forced on kids anyway, especially the "under God" part. And then in VA, they have their "moment of silence" too. /blergh[/quote]
