I guess for me, it's a school event, and as the host, schools have a right to determine what is and isn't allowed. My kids are only in elementary/middle school, but I've already seen it a lot: for the elementary school chorus winter and spring concerts, the kids have to wear nice clothes I.e. no jeans, sweats, shirts with graphics, etc. My middle schooler was invited to a leadership conference type thing at school, and he wasn't allowed to wear jeans (had to be dress/khaki/etc. pants). My elementary schooler went to a performance at a local theater, and the kids had to dress nicely- again, no jeans, sweats, etc. And so on. [/quote]
