Let me sum up every Beauvoir thread.... 1. Beauvoir does not adequately prepare students for the fourth grade at ncs and sta 2. No! Beauvoir is magical and teaches critical thinking, we don't need to focus on academics at such an early age! 3. Forces third graders to take a bunch of admissions tests that focus on....you guessed it, academics.
4. Third grade academically is so demanding!!! Let's see....reading and writing at a 3rd grade level, multiplication and division? Wow!
It would also be nice if someone made sure that while the BVR kids were catching up, they did not slow down the other kids who are able to move forward more quickly.
Wow you are really mean. And off base. Did you not see the previous post by the former NCS/STA teacher? Where is all this hate coming from for Beauvoir kids- key word being KIDS. I asked a family member who went to STA but not Beauvoir his experience with the Beauvoir kids from his class and he said they were smart nice kids. Many of them his closest friends. As a Beauvoir parent I've found this to be the case too. There are some really sad people out there with a serious axe to grind against all things Beauvoir related. Move on and get help. And one last thing, judging from the STA college outplacement it appears that the majority of boys (Beauvoir and otherwise) have done just fine, even the precious little darlings who were slowed down by those Beauvoir kids. Imagine that. This thread is absurd!
