All we know is that they won't discuss how they will raise the children with the OP's family.  It sounds like not discussing it with the inlaws is a perfectly rational and understandable decision.  That doesn't mean they, as a couple, haven't thought it through and have a plan that they are both comfortable with.[/quote]
