I'm a 6th Year teacher with DCPS. My current paycheck is $1,417 twice a month. Please tell me how this is greedy? I can barely afford to live in the city. I have 2 roommates and have to supplement by waiting tables on the weekends when I have a bachelors degree and am a certified licensed teacher.
So you're claiming to make less than the listed salary for a first year teacher in DC?
Their contract is only 10 months worth of pay that is spread out over a 12 month period. Run the numbers x2 a month for 12 months and the numbers add up. It's absolutely ludacris that we trust these people with our children yet don't think they deserve to make as much as the next blue collar worker in D.C. such as police and fireman? You must send your child to private school, or you just don't understand common sense.
You are nuts if you think a 51k starting salary is low paid. Get a grip.
