We struck out in the Brent IB lottery two years ago, and most other Ward 6 programs, and landed at Appletree LP.  Appletree didn't work well for us - kid was often in trouble, considered a discipline problem and an academic straggler. Other LP families there had similar experiences. To us, the Appletree curriculum was a K curriculum, not a preschool or prek curriculum.  Once we got to Brent for K, teacher considered child well-behaved and an advanced learner. Looking back on it, really wish we'd stayed at the Hill Preschool or gone elsewhere, even if the commute wasn't so hot.  It wasn't unusual for our kid to come home from LP in tears (after not having received enough "stars" to get a "prize" at the end of the school day, like most of the other "scholars").  [/quote]
