I do this on occasion, but I really don't go outside once I'm at work. What should I be doing instead?
Tights, pants, anything to cover that exposed skin in this brutal weather.
then it's hot in the office i now work from home, but i remember the absolute misery of going to the office when it's hot or cold out, and the inside temp is vastly different from the outside temp/
And I think you are BS-ing when you say that tights are somehow too hot, or that bare, exposed legs somehow feel "good" when it's 18 outside.
I think you misunderstand. The bare legs in cold weather feel like shit. But given the temperature discrepancies - how hot it is inside, when it's so cold outside - I sometimes chose to be cold outside in order to be comfortable inside. When I worked in Congress - in my early/mid 30s - I used to feel like I was going through menopause, with the freezing cold temps outside, then coming into the boiling hot buildings. I'd end up wearing tights outside, then changing inside, or wearing boots outside then putting on other shoes, but if you were only going to be outside a short time - walking to get a sandwich or something - you might go with the bare legs.
np. Umm...this is how I feel in the summer. I don't work for congress, but its boiling hot outside, and the AC is set at like 65 inside so I'm FREEZING inside and have to keep a blanket for my legs and a sweater at my desk so that I don't die of cold in my office (or the grocery store, library, restaurants. etc).
