I think what the pp was trying to point out is that the Tuoghys literally pulled Oher out of the projects and gave him tremendous opportunities with every resource they could provide. [/quote]

That's just nonsense. He was already a student at their kids' private school and was a 5 star football recruit. They definitely helped him along with tutoring, etc but they did not "literally" "pull him out of the projects." Yuck.[/quote]

He was placed in foster care at age seven, and alternated between living in various foster homes and periods of homelessness.
