But having violent riots in Keith Scott's case was wrong - and premature. It was based on the assumption that when a cop kills a black guy, the cop is always guilty. And isn't they what prejudice really is? Making assumptions and painting everyone in a particular group with a broad brush, and condemning them without any facts? The other cases you brought up were travesties. But the one with Scott weakens the point.
That's your opinion. Congratulations you're human. Guess what - the people fed up and frustrated and compelled to lash out after this latest tragedy that occurred in their city are human too. Was it premature? Was this particular case a "poor choice" to take to the streets over? Sitting here in the comfort of a relatively peaceful city with the benefit of hindsight, yeah, I'd say they got a little too carried away too fast. But then again I don't live in Charlotte. I don't know what type of environment their city was already in with regard to community/police relations prior to the shooting. I don't know if black people there were already fed up frustrated and ready to riot even before Keith Scott got killed - they very well may have been. This case could have simply been the final straw of numerous incidents that have been occurring for some time that have had the black residents of that city fuming with anger already. I don't know. I do know that the type of anger and emotion that results in riots isn't instantaneous or impromptu. It takes a lot for people to reach that boiling point and evidently the blacks in Charlotte reached it.
