The problem with blocking DHS funding is that it's tied to funding for a lot of other funding, so they can't vote on it separately. The other issue is that this White House doesn't care about funding the government. It simply moves funding around for the things it wants to fund and that allows Trump to amass even more power.

Who cares! You have to ask What Would Republicans Do(WWRD). They would burn down the government, default on US debt, etc to cut a few billions from healthcare. Stopping a domestic terrorist group run by the Republicans is a bridge too far for democrats? What would the republicans do if the US government were executing maga in the streets?

Your worry about rationalism, budgetary processes and wide eyed naivety do not work in a world where the US government controlled by republicans is executing US citizens in the street while using democratic processes to destroy US democracy. [/quote]
