If that was all that happened, it might be ok, but even then he had a contract detailing what he could and could not say.  He kept to the contract.  So firing him goes against that contract, even if it were just about ABC.

It’s not though.  The FCC Chairwent on a conservative podcast and threatened ABC’s license.  He said ‘we can do this the easy or hard way”.  Disney internal discussions show they didn’t think Kimmel was offensive.  Kimmel himself wanted to say his words were being deliberately twisted.  Instead, Bob Iger decided to suspend the show. Michael Eisner, his predecessor, has ripped him apart for the cowardice.

Suppression of free speech is what fascist regimes do and corporations are often enabling it.  So no, your reductionist explanation is sorely lacking.  [/quote]
