Has this been discussed yet? What is it with authoritarian regimes (US, Israel) wanting to send undesirables to South Sudan?! Is South Sudan the new El Salvador? Israel in talks to resettle Gaza Palestinians in South Sudan https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/israel-talks-resettle-gaza-palestinians-south-sudan-sources-say-2025-08-15/
Nobody cares where Palestinians end up, as long as they're far enough away to be unable to cause havoc in Israel or in other ME countries which want stable, peaceful societies. Sudan would be fine, as would be any one of the many authoritarian Islamist regimes which exist globally where the Palestinians should feel right at home.
South Sudan is a Christian nation with a small minority of most other religions. Palestinians are Sunni Muslim. South Sudan is plagued with droughts and a massive food shortage. Trump and Netanyahu are just foul pieces of crap. I hope Netanyahu doesn’t consider himself a religious man because he is far from one. He can order the murder of children and their mothers and go to a party a few hours later.
South Sudan has a long horrific feud with north Sudan and arabization. A better country to ask wouldve been Ethiopia. Lots of Syrian and Yemeni migrants moved there in recent years and seem to like it. Ethiopians also speak Semitic languages with many words in common with Arabic and Hebrew. Selam for example is how they hello.
I may be cynical when viewing Trump and Netanyahu but I do believe they chose South Sudan because they wouldn’t be able to assimilate and they wouldn’t be welcome. There are still killings based on ethnicities and religious differences even though the civil war and dividing Sudan into two separate countries should have stopped it. The Arab-Muslim majority is in the north, the Christian and Animist religions (animist is an Indigenous group) are in South Sudan. There’s conflict in South Sudan, violence, there’s religious clashes, there’s food shortages, large numbers going hungry. So why send a large group of traumatized refugees into that? A further act of cruelty?
No Arab country wanted the problem and the problem is not Palestinians . It’s Jewish interference. South Sudan will soon find out that Israel will not leave those 2 m Palestinians alone even in South Sudan.
