Nothing to see here. A supposed “gold standard” pollster released a poll with results that were a massive 16+ points off the actual election results. Way outside any margin of error. She caused the betting markets to swing towards Harris, the candidate she personally supported in the election. She should be investigated for manipulating the betting markets. [/quote]

She was the most respected pollster out there. Why would she trash her reputation and career over something like this? It makes zero sense at all. The Occam's razor explanation is that she used her usual polling methods, got an outlier poll, had the integrity to publish it - which is what you are supposed to do - and since it was so wildly off, now stepping back to figure out what about her methods don't work now.

There just aren't any reasonably credible incentives you could imaging that would cause her to just make up a poll showing Harris so outrageously far ahead of Trump in Iowa if it's totally divorced from reality.

If you think it's designed to get Rs to stay home - well is that what happened? Seems like not!
