Given that the vote was paused due to blow back from Sentencing Commission members, public and the media, this is really an astonishing more. Their sense of impunity knows no bounds. And it was Chairman Mendelson who nominated the murderer.

The provision about judges explaining decisions not to hold seems to have been dropped as well.

I've been contacting my CouncilMember (Frumin) to support Secure DC. Can someone give a quick summary of what happened, where we are, and what to do? My impression is its all very 11th hour, but I'm unclear on what unfolded. Just that I probably won't like it.[/quote]
