They keep hearing the lies repeated often. If there’s no one there to refute it every time with evidence that fits into a soundbite and can’t be twisted into further proof to back the lie, eventually the lie sticks. [/quote]

People don't want to believe painful things that might reflect badly on them. Their brain cooperates with this deception. Easier to believe so crazy story about people they have been told to villainize, than to think it might be political violence spurred by their own talk or those of their leaders.

Others who know reality, think it better to side with the crazies rather than Democrats.

Currently, they will not really care whether anyone gets hurt/dies or not, even though some will make appropriate statements at the time.
