Just hit the wire… “It’s dead” - manchin.
If Manchin actually said that, then it's a stunning admission by him. Because yesterday, with the sole objection of Bernie Sanders, the Senate Dems handed Manchin the pen, to let HIM craft the BBB bill however he saw fit, in whatever way makes him happy. If he's now saying "it's dead" that means he picked up the pen and threw it in the trash. It PROVES, without any shadow of doubt, that Manchin never operated in good faith and that NO amount of concession would ever get him on board. Anyone trying to claim it was ever about principles or that Manchin was acting in good faith owes all of us a major apology.
He did say it.... [twitter]https://twitter.com/mkraju/status/1488558571562360835[/twitter] The Dems overstepped, plain and simple. And, they overpromised to the American people. Manchin was consistent from the start. And, when the CBO issued the actual cost of the stupid bill, it confirmed that the cost was not actually "zero dollars" as Biden repeatedly said. Manchin, unlike the other Dems, is concerned about the effect of inflation on his constituents and the nation at large. He probably just saved the Dems a few seats come the midterms.
