Revenge is a dish best served blue.
Get over yourself. There's no such thing as revenge. Victory is sweet, though.
Revenge is totally a thing. Though, technically it is the Lord’s, if you believe Deuteronomy 32:35. And we do have a victory, which is very sweet indeed.
No, I stand by my statement: There is no such thing as revenge. It never succeeds. It's a failed strategy. I don't care what the Bible says. Revenge, true revenge, does not exist.
If you’re talking about harming someone that harmed you? I follow and agree that ultimately you reap what you sow. However, if you’re taking revenge in the meaning of retribution for an intentional harm, to correct a wrong? Yes, that is a thing. An honest election and a fair fight is a sweet revenge to a duplicitous thief. But I’m guessing you’re referring to “true revenge” as the harmful, bitter, angry type that seeks ill will to others that hurt them. If so then I can clarify and agree that a constant trade of ill will rot the soul and (to your point) return more harm often in an unpredictable form. So, I get your point. I’m not an advocate for going rogue; I’d prefer repair and healing. Which does require ensuring that dangerous threats to that process are held accountable.
